Heritage Award

Each year we award a business or individual with our Heritage Award. The award recognizes someone in our community who exemplifies the values in our mission statement and has made a notable contribution towards preserving our local history. It is our privilege to recognize these individuals because only by working together will we safe guard the treasures of the past for future generations.

Qualifications

• Candidate may be living or deceased.
• Priority should be given to Candidates outside the organization.
• Candidates may qualify for one or more of the following reasons.
  • Provide public education in; history, civics, or social studies.
  • Community Service; local, state, or national.
  • Military service including re-enactments.
  • Preservation of traditions or folklore.
  • Saving or restoring historic structures.
  • Working to promote, preserve, or save our local history.

Selection Process

• Nominations should be submitted at the October meeting.
• Nominations should include a list of the candidates qualifications.
• Open discussion for any member who would like to add to the candidates qualifications.
• Voting will take place at our November meeting by secret ballot.
